iHub Robotics: Pioneering Aerospace Innovation from Kochi

Kochi, Kerala – iHub Robotics, a trailblazing Kochi-based start-up renowned for its cutting-edge robotics research and development, is ambitiously venturing into aerospace technology under its subsidiary, I Aero Sky India. This venture marks Kerala’s first aerospace start-up, with aspirations to revolutionize space travel and satellite deployment through innovative and cost-effective solutions.

Pioneering Affordable Rocket Technology

Leading the charge is Athil Krishna, one of the three founders and CEO of iHub Robotics. Krishna revealed that the start-up aims to unveil a prototype of their groundbreaking rocket by December. Unlike traditional, expensive rocketry, I Aero Sky India is developing a semi-rocket technology designed to significantly reduce costs. This novel approach replaces conventional chemical fuels with helium or hydrogen-powered balloons. These balloons are equipped with a permanent propelling system, a heat compression unit, and advanced sensors to monitor and control pressure and temperature, preventing balloon bursts.

“Our technology will provide an affordable solution for launching commercial and specific-purpose satellites with payloads up to 100kg into low Earth orbit,” Krishna explained. This innovative method promises to democratize access to space, making satellite launches feasible for a wider range of applications and clients.

Unveiling of Nambi Sat: A Tribute to Excellence

In a significant milestone, I Aero Sky India is set to launch its operations with the unveiling of Nambi Sat, a communication satellite named after former ISRO scientist S. Nambi Narayanan. Minister P. Rajeeve will officiate the satellite’s unveiling ceremony on Saturday.

“Nambi Sat marks our foray into the commercial satellite market, which holds immense potential,” said Krishna. The satellite, designed for low Earth orbit, will gather data crucial for Kerala, particularly in disaster management. The data collected will be processed at a dedicated ground station, integrated with an artificial intelligence-driven system to provide accurate predictions and timely alerts by comparing current data with historical records.

Future Prospects and Advanced Technologies

I Aero Sky India’s vision extends beyond Nambi Sat. Plans are underway to develop an advanced version of the satellite equipped with a hyper spectral imaging system. This enhanced satellite will offer superior capabilities for disaster management and other critical applications. The start-up has already proposed the utilization of this advanced satellite to the State government.

Innovative Robotic Solutions

In addition to their aerospace ambitions, iHub Robotics will showcase three new robotic products at the launch event. These innovations include:
Restaurant Robot: Designed for deployment in hotels and healthcare institutions, this robot aims to enhance service efficiency and customer experience.
-Scara: A cost-effective robotic arm tailored for industrial applications, promising to streamline manufacturing processes.

Spot: A versatile dog robot intended for defense purposes and hazardous industries, offering advanced mobility and operational capabilities.

A New Era for Kerala’s Tech Industry

iHub Robotics, through I Aero Sky India, is setting a new benchmark for technological innovation in Kerala. By merging affordability with advanced technology, the start-up is poised to make significant contributions to both the aerospace and robotics industries. The unveiling of Nambi Sat and the launch of their new robotic products signify a bold step towards a future where space and automation technologies are accessible and beneficial to all.
